Meet The Staff
The tutors are all talented, strong writers, who are your peers in the University. Most of the tutors are seniors and English majors. Most have served as the “go-to” person for their friends’ writing for a long time. All undergo training in composition instruction to ensure a friendly and helpful experience for you in the Writing Center.
Director: became the director of the Writing Center in the Fall semester of 2002. He received his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in English (Composition and Rhetoric). His academic interests include: The Writing Studio, Qualitative Research and Professional/Business Writing.

Tutor: Jessica Pauszek is a senior English major and plans on attending graduate school in composition and rhetoric.
Tutor: Stephanie Scobell is a senior English major and came on staff in 2007.
Tutor: Christopher Gebhardt is a senior English major.
Tutor: Crystal Smith is graduate student in English. She is an advocate for marginalized groups.
Tutor: Mia Harrison is a senior English major and Creative Writing minor.
Tutor: Jennifer Schmitt is our first freshman tutor.
In addition to this core group of tutors, students from upper-division classes sometimes volunteer to tutor at the Writing Center to cover class requirements throughout each academic semester. The directors, tutors and volunteers make up the staff here at Stetson’s Writing Center.
